Hoover SteamVac Carpet Shampooer Model F5810

Hoover F5810 SteamVac Carpet Cleaner

I was shopping around for a Carpet Shampooer, when I stumbled upon the Hoover SteamVac Carpet Shampooer, model number F5810. What prompted me to purchase this Hoover SteamVac Carpet Shampooer was the price of the unit. The second feature I love is, with this unit being no bigger then my upright vacuum, I can store the shampooer in my closet without sacrificing any space.

Hoover F5810 SteamVac Carpet Shampooer

This carpet shampooer is equipped with dual tanks, the top tank is for your cleaning solution, the bottom tank is for the extracted dirty water. The Hoover SteamVac carpet cleaner has an convenient on/off switch, and handle release, which is turned on with the touch of my toe. The cleaning solution control switch is located on the handle, and is activated with a push of my finger, giving me easier control how much solution is distributed onto the carpet.

The cleaning solution tank is easy to remove, one push down on the lever on top of the tank, it will then lean forward to be lifted out. The tank will snap back into place, once filled with cleaning solution and hot tap water, with one push. The extraction tank removes by flipping outward two levers on each side of the unit. There is no fighting with latches to remove the lid, you just pull up on the tab, and lift off for easy tank cleaning. This unit does not come with a upholstery wand, but does have a removable panel on the extraction tank if I decide to buy the wand at a later time.

Another great feature of this Hoover SteamVac Carpet Shampooer is the extra long 20 foot power cord. With this longer cord, I am able to steam clean my entire living room, and hallways without having to unplug the unit, and replug it into an outlet in the next room.

The Hoover SteamVac Carpet Shampooer has a cleaning track of 11 1/2 inches, giving me a wide cleaning path. The top of the base on the shampooer is clear, allowing me to view the suction power as the dirty water is extracted up into the tank. The water extraction works in both directions of forward and reverse, there is no additional turning of a switch for reverse suction.

I honestly did not expect much out of this unit, being it was not the top of the line carpet shampooer that Hoover has to offer, but I am very happy with the power of extraction, and the ability to get my high traffic areas clean again. I love everything about the Hoover SteamVac Carpet Shampooer model number F5810, and would recommend it to someone who is in the market for a carpet shampooer.
